Learning for Peace Building

A project supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme,

managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

The overall aim of this project is to create a fundamental change in attitudes and behaviour within communities (CVs) in the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough such as the Orange Order, GAA, bands, youth groups and community groups.  It aims to build Positive Relationships between these communities in line with the overall of a shared understanding of the past and this fundamental change in attitudes and behaviour

The project consists of a series of activities, workshops and accredited courses delivered to 20+ participants over a 5 month period.

The project is delivered in partnership with Co-operation Ireland and Utopian Training who deliver the OCN accredited course.

As well as the training the participants will take part in an International Visit.  The visit took place in November 2019 to Paris, France, where the participants looked at new emerging tensions and conflicts arising from ‘immigration, migration and refugees’.
