Whilst the Board of Co-operation Ireland chose to take a neutral position on the referendum with some members for and against, the Board did agree the following:

  1. The importance of strengthening and deepening British/Irish relationships
  2. Protecting the Peace Process
  3. Maintaining the common travel area
  4. Minimising the impact on the border – keeping the border as invisible as possible
  5. Avoiding economic isolation in the border region.
