North South Underachievement Practitioners Engagement Project
This project brings schools together on an All Island basis
- To disseminate best practice in teaching literacy and numeracy skills that has been identified through the work of both inspectorates encouraging discussion, consideration and professional development among practitioners in relation to the teaching of literacy and numeracy.
- To identify and disseminate good practice in schools in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland on addressing educational underachievement.
This will be achieved through :
- 2 All Island Seminars bringing together educators from across the Island of Ireland focusing on leadership and on improving educational outcomes by tackling barriers to educational disadvantage.
- Creation of an on-line communication and learning platform where schools and practitioners will be able to avail of information, communicate, discuss and debate the best practice as identified by the inspectorate.
This project is being supported by the Department of Education Northern Ireland and the Department of Education & Skills in the Republic of Ireland.
