Actors, Musicians and Poets to attend Co-operation Ireland arts celebration event

Poet Michael Longley CBE, pianist Barry Douglas and actors Adrian Dunbar and Conleth Hill are just some of the guests attending the Co-operation Ireland celebration of the arts tomorrow (27 June 2012), with Co-operation Ireland’s Joint Patrons Her Majesty The Queen, President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins First Minister Peter Robinson MLA and deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness MLA.

They will be joined by many community arts representatives as well as guests from the Lyric Theatre, musicians, painters and other artists.

“This event aims to highlight how the arts have contributed to reconciliation and peace-building on the island of Ireland. The importance of the arts in society cannot be underestimated and this celebration is designed to acknowledge and pay tribute to those people who play a pivotal role in ensuring the arts are enjoyed by all in our society”.
