Co-operation Ireland’s Youth Leadership project receives Coca-Cola Award

Co-operation Ireland was one of a number of organisations to receive support from Coca-Cola’s Thank You Fund. The €10K Award for the Amazing The Space Legacy Youth Leadership project will enable young people develop the skills to become leaders of change in their own communities.

The Coca-Cola Thank You Fund is delivered in partnership with the Irish Youth Foundation and Youth Action Northern Ireland. Speaking today, Sabina Cotter, Head of Grants and Programmes, Irish Youth Foundation, said the projects selected had the potential to transform the lives of young people.

“The best way to reach young people and help them acquire skills that they will use throughout their lives is by getting them involved with groups that serve their passions. There is no such thing as one size fits all, and the projects funded by the Coca-Cola Thank You Fund will appeal to a broad cross section of young people. All are designed to make a strategic and impactful intervention in their lives. Furthermore, our communities stand to benefit as participants have an opportunity to be positive role models amongst their peers,” she said.

Director of Fundraising, Terry O’Neill accepted the award on behalf of Co-operation Ireland. He said.

“Our yourh leadership programmes are an integral part of our work and we are delighted that Coca-Coca recognise the impact they have on young people and on communities. We are thrilled with this Award as it allows us to support more young people to become leaders in their communities.”
