Foyle Ambassadors Graduation

21 Foyle Ambassadors from Derry~Londonderry and Donegal graduated recently after completing a 10 week programme. Co-operation Ireland co-ordinated the programme with funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Loughs Agency.

Co-operation Ireland named charity partner for Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia.

Co-operation Ireland is honoured to be chosen as charity partner for the Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia Northern Ireland in 2016. This unique partnership offers Co-operation Ireland supporters to get involved in, what is likely to be, the largest ever bike ride to take place in Northern Ireland. The ride will be held on closed roads, similar to that which the professionals enjoyed in the Giro d’Italia which was held in Northern Ireland in 2014.

CATCH panel hearing 2016

On 22 January, Year 10 students from fours schools in Lurgan and North Belfast - Edmund Rice College, Hazelwood College, Lurgan Junior High School and St. Ronan’s Junior High School participated in a panel hearing involving prominent political, civic and community leaders.

Co-operation Ireland and the IRFU Charitable Trust have launched a joint fundraising event, which will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the WW1 Battle of the Somme and the 1916 Easter Rising.

Ireland’s first ever participation in London’s Lord Mayor’s Show

On 9 November 2015 the Taoiseach Enda Kenny announced Ireland’s first ever participation in The Lord Mayor’s Show in London. The historic pageant, which takes place on Saturday 14 November, celebrates its 800th anniversary this year. Half a million people will line the streets of central London to cheer on the parade and it will be watched on national television by millions more.

Co-operation Ireland in association with The All-island Local Authority Forum and the International Centre for Local and Regional Development (ICLRD), held an innovative seminar in Maynooth University on Thursday 10th September 2015. This event was jointly funded by the Department of the Environment (NI) and the Environment, Community and Local Government (ROI).

Community Planning and the Regeneration of Local Spaces were the topics under discussion at a seminar hosted by Co-operation Ireland’s All Island Local Authority Forum in partnership with the Northern Ireland Department of the Environment (DOE) and the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government (DECLG) on Thursday (26th February) in Dublin Castle.
