Co-operation Ireland and Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia NI announce cycling partnership
In 2016, Co-operation Ireland will team up with the organisers of the Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia NI to create a unique cycling opportunity designed specifically for business and group participants.
Full details on the event will be announced at a later date, but will include guaranteed entry for teams, with a portion of the entry fees being donated to Co-operation Ireland. All cyclists will be offered the opportunity to raise sponsorship for the charity. Individual places and corporate tables will also be available for the exclusive Gran Fondo Gala Dinner with Co-operation Ireland benefitting from the auction on the night. The second Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia NI is scheduled to take place late summer 2016, replacing Co-operation Ireland’s annual Maracycle on the charity’s calendar of events.
Co-operation Ireland, which is synonymous with cycling on the island of Ireland, is honoured to be chosen as Charity Partner for the Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia NI. This unique partnership will be an opportunity for participants to support Co-operation Ireland’s peace-building work and it is a fitting tribute that the charity, will once again, be involved in what is likely to be, the largest ever bike ride to take place in Northern Ireland.
Terry O’Neill, Director of Fundraising at Co-operation Ireland said,
“Whilst its been difficult to forego Maracycle this year, we are confident that working with the organisers of the Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia NI will be extremely positive for raising awareness and funds for Co-operation Ireland’s youth and community programmes.”
