ROBINSON & MCGUINNESS PRAISED FOR ACHIEVING THE “IMPOSSIBLE”
The awards ceremony for the annual IPB Pride of Place Competition in association with Co-operation Ireland took place on Saturday (14 November) in Ennis, Co. Clare. More than 800 people from across the island filled the venue to hear the winners announced by RTE’s Ciana Campbell.
The Brian Friel theatre QFT, was abuzz with excitement on Thursday 5 November as 80 young people celebrated the latest installment of Co-operation Ireland’s Entwined Histories project series – EH6, The Home Front. The young people presented the dramas they have spent the past weeks working on, to their teachers, parents and special guests.
Pictured at Cutts House, the home of The Honourable The Irish Society in Coleraine are Social Development Minister Mervyn Storey MLA, Roger Chadwick, Deputy Governor of the Honourable the Irish and Dr Christopher Moran, Chairman of Co-operation Ireland. Mr Chadwick presented Co-operation Ireland a cheque of £11,000 to run a National Citizen Service (NI) programme in Coleraine, which Co-operation Ireland will manage with support from the Department of Social Development.
It is with regret that after careful consideration Co-operation Ireland announces the end of the All-Island School Choir Competition series. Beginning in 2009 the competition, which was organised in association with RTÉ, provided a platform to raise the profile of choral music in second-level schools throughout the island through four weekly Sunday night heat programmes and the Grand Final, presented live on RTÉ One by Anne Cassin each November.
Last night (19 August), more than 200 young people from across Northern Ireland graduated from the National Citizen Service (NCS) programme. The event, held at Crumlin Road Gaol, was an opportunity to celebrate the fantastic journey that the young people have been on and the contribution that they have made to their local communities.

NI NCS Summer 2015 programmes are well and truly underway with team building residentials currently taking place for all 16 NI teams at Greenhill YMCA and Share Village.
This weekend (27 & 28 June) sees the annual Co-operation Ireland Maracycle between Belfast and Dublin take place.
