Overseas Challenges 2013
Be A Sport for Co-operation Ireland in 2013 and take on an overseas challenge to help us raise funds for the important peace-building work taking place throughout the island of Ireland.
3-5 August - Ride London 100
A weekend festival of cycling. The Ride London Free Cycle for 70,000 people around the streets of London on the Saturday and The Ride London 100 Cyclo Sportive for 25,000 cyclists on the Sunday. Sunday's event is followed by a UCI sanctioned Ride London Grand Prix race for the top Pro cyclists in the world. Your chance to ride the Olympic Cycling Road Race Gold Medal route from London into Surrey,to finish on The Mall.
15 September - Great North Run
Take part in one of the world's greatest running festivals and the biggest half marathon. Over 50,000 runners from all over the world will gather in Newcastle city centre to participate in the 33rd running of this event.
3 November - The ING New York City Marathon
5-day trip to the ‘Big Apple’ to take part in one of the world’s greatest sporting events. 40,000 participants, 6,000 volunteers and over 2 million spectators makes this one of the greatest sporting shows in the world.
9-19 November - Land of the Kings Cycle Challenge
Ride the tribal trails and royal pathways through India's colourful Rajasthan region. 6 days 400km bike ride discovering India the best way - from the saddle of your bike. A once in a lifetime opportunity with highlights including the amazing Taj Mahal and Amber Fort.
14-23 November 2014- The Cuban Revolution Cycle Challenge
350km over 5 days cycling from the beautiful Cuban capital of Havana to the sparkling water of the Caribbean Sea this bike ride is a must for the cycling enthusiast. You will cycle through villages, sugar plantations and tree-lined avenues passing the charming city of Cienfuegos nicknamed ‘Pearl of the South’, situated in a bay overlooking the Caribbean Sea, and continue along coastline to the town of Trinidad with its cobblestone streets, beautifully restored houses and colonial courtyards.
