Maracycle 2015 (27-28 June)

27 Jun 2015

The 2 day 218 mile bike ride between Belfast and Dublin.  Maracycle is one of the most popular and friendliest biking sportif in Ireland, attracting hundreds of cyclists each year. This year there are  options to cycle one way either direction or half day starting or finishing in Newry.  Discounts are available for groups of 6 or more.  Accommodation and Transport Packages are available.

The first Maracycle took place on 1 July 1984 when 1,200 cyclists left City Hall Belfast and the Mansion House Dublin simultaneously to spend two days riding between the two cities. They did so to show their support for an end to violence and a peaceful future for all our people.  65,000 participants can now claim to have cycled between Dublin and Belfast in support of Ireland’s leading peace building charity.

The weekend of 27-28 June provides the ideal opportunity to join together to celebrate over 30 years of biking across borders in support of the peace building programmes of Co-operation Ireland.

You can see details of the Maracycle route here or see the route on Map My Ride
