The Co-operation Ireland 30th Anniversary Gala Ball took place on Thursday 2 November at the exclusive Dorchester Hotel on London’s Park Lane.
Our sincere thanks go to everyone who bought tables or tickets for the event and to everyone who arranged, donated or purchased items in the auction or raffle. A huge thank you also to Maison Samadi – London who provided delicious chocolates for each guest on the evening.
The event was a great success and the charity was delighted to receive celebrity messages of support via video from Bob Geldof, Adrian Dunbar, Bill Nighy, Ian Rankin and Miriam O’Callaghan .
Guests enjoyed an evening of fine dining and top class entertainment with a guest appearance from the wonderfully talented Cerys Matthews MBE. The incredible violinist Richard Sanderson and Green Hot Clover, one of the UK’s best live bands provided fabulous music on the night.
The event was extremely important raising much needed funds for the charity’s peace-building work, in particular the continued extension of the Youth Leadership programme. The programme gives young people the opportunity to participate more in civil society, interact and collaborate more with groups and individuals from different cultural and religious backgrounds and gain new skills and knowledge so they can access further education or employment.
A selection of photographs taken on the night can be viewed here.
The date for next year’s event has still to be confirmed. Please check our website for further information.
