Terry joined Co-operation Ireland in 1985 to organise sporting events which would bring communities from Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland together and promote peace & reconciliation.

As Head of Communications and Fundraising Terry is responsible for

  • Communications & corporate branding
  • Corporate fundraising
  • Corporate Event Development and Management - dinners, balls, golf days & racedays, including the annual Pat Jennings Golf Classic
  • Progamme support
  • Trusts & foundations
  • Fundraising Sporting challenges – marathons & bike rides at home and overseas including Canada, USA, Europe, Australia, South Africa & Nepal.

Terry has organised large scale sporting occasions in support of Co-operation Ireland including bringing almost 100,000 participants to various cycling events. In 1995 he organised a visit by the Manchester United team to Belfast and in 1996, organised a rugby peace international in Dublin between Ireland & the Barbarians

A graduate of the Ulster Polytechnic with a Masters from the Open University. Terry worked as a Civil engineer before joining the Northern Irelans Sports Council to promote health and fitness through mass participation in sport.

Terry’s personal achievements include running 14 marathons and cycling thousands of miles on 4 continents through Co-operation Ireland’s overseas cycling challenges
